Perhaps a controversial addition to the list, for some of us, contouring is a way of life and we hoard the latest beauty products to help us achieve that flawless look. And even if you’re not a fan, unless you’ve been living under rock, chances are you at least know what it is. When done right, contouring can highlight your bone structure, conceal areas you don’t like and basically make your face look picture perfect. Great for taking gorgeous selfies and for big nights out, the major drawbacks with contouring are that when done badly you can look like a hot mess, and natural light can be your enemy! Make sure you choose products that work with your skin type and tone to help make sure you don’t become the victim of a fashion disaster.

3. Big Brows

3. Big Brows

Full brows have been in vogue for a good few years now, and it is nice that we don’t have to savagely pluck or wax our eyebrows anymore. The key is natural however if you remember the Scouse Brow, you’ll understand how easy it is to go a little too far. Dramatic brows are one thing and caterpillars partying on your face are quite another so treat this trend cautiously.

2. Stiletto Nails

2. Stiletto Nails

While they are undeniably glamorous, stiletto nails have to be one of the most impractical beauty trends out there! Not only do you run the risk of poking your own eye out, but even everyday tasks like typing and sending a text are going to become more of a challenge. If you love the look, then why not try shorter rounded pointed styles for your nails. Or what about hopping on board the coffin nail trend we talk about here for glamorous nails that aren’t incapacitating!

1. Big Lips

Thanks to namely Kylie Jenner, the big pout look has been seriously in for the last year or two and have seen us all flocking to buy the latest matt lipsticks. And to be honest is nice to see a return to more daring lip looks after years after years of the natural style. Too big is not necessarily bigger though; over-lining your lips with a lip liner has become a big trend but it does have the potential to look dodgy though when it’s not done right. If you love this look, then be very careful to match your liner to your lipstick and don’t go too overboard!

There’s sure to be plenty more beauty trends just around the corner for the brave of us to try out, and as long as there is makeup, we’ll be experimenting!
